ABOUT THE MUSIC

Derrick has performed in many venues across Canada including The Kipawo Arts Centre (Wolfville, NS), Black Swan Tavern (Toronto, Ont.), Rasputin's (Ottawa, Ont.) The Jumpin' Jack Fest (Chetwynd B.C).
He was been commissioned by CBC (Mugalor and Hedy's Lament 2001) and his song Don't Take Me Fishin' was featured on the National CBC program "Gone Fishin'" along with Taj Mahal's Gone Fishin'.

 

 

 

Derrick McCandless built his own guitar which he plays at all his musical performances.

Derrick enjoys jamming and singing weekly, with other Winnipeg musicians, singers and
song-writers, some of whom also occasionally join him on stage at his performances.
He also joins other friends and musicians, volunteering to play guitar and sing at a
Winnipeg facility, making music for those who can't get out in the winter months.
They are always left very happy and thoroughly entertained!

Winnipeg Musicians will be happy to know that Derrick is
